The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course delivers the essential principles, skills and knowledge to maintain or restore breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant. The course content is based on the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

You must complete the online assessment to determine if you are suitable to complete online training. We prefer to be upfront and ensure you have the necessory resources before you book. 

We recommend you use a Gmail email address if you have one.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course; however, it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language, technology and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the online CPR training.

Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level and record your demonstration on your mobile device and upload. You will need to be able to set up this or ask someone to assist you to record your tasks.

This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes on your knees.

Note: Please wear closed in shoes and appropriate clothing. 

Course Content

  • Recognise an emergency situation
  • Legal Issues and infection control
  • Assessing the casualty and recognising the need for CPR
  • Emergency action plan – DRSABCD
  • Plan an appropriate first aid response
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Adult, Infant and child CPR rates and techniques
  • One and two-person CPR techniques
  • Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Duration

This CPR course is usually completed within 2 hours online. This will be subject to your technical skills to upload your tasks (which may take longer). There is no pressure with time limits and you can work at your own pace.

Assessment

This course is assessed through online activity, demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency required for the National Accredited criteria. 

Certificates are issued the next business day after your course date, providing the online theory. and tasks are uploaded to your student portal. Your certificate is issued and you will be required to login into your student portal to download your certificate. We recommend you keep your logins, as you can always access a copy of your certificate anytime and future refresher training will have the same login.

*Please note, it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following unit of competence. 

Location

Online in your own premises, workplace, school Australia wide.

Validity

One (1) year from date of course. It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that you update your CPR skills every 12 months.

Our comprehensive student management system will remind you approximately 1-2 months before your CPR or First Aid Certificate is due to be refreshed.
