This course is ideal for those who work in the education and childcare industry, as well as parents and carers of young children. The Education and Care First Aid course is nationally recognised training and has been endorsed by ACECQA as satisfying all education requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management, and emergency asthma training.

Entry Requirements
Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please use our contact us form to discuss us prior to booking.
Note: Please wear closed in footwear and appropriate clothing to ensure you do not do any harm to yourself.
Course Content
- Recognise an emergency situation
- Legal Issues and infection control
- Assessing the casualty and recognising the need for CPR
- Emergency action plan – DRSABCD
- Plan an appropriate first aid response
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Adult, Infant and child CPR rates and techniques
- One and two-person CPR techniques
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Duration
This course is expected to be completed within 4 hours online. There are tasks to record and upload to your assigned student portal. This may take longer depending on your skills. There is no time limit and you can work at your own pace.
Assessment
This course is assessed through online activity, demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency for this course. Participants will be required to complete practical activities, record and upload to a student portal.
Certificates are issued the next business day of the course, providing the online theory has been completed and all practical tasks are recorded and uploaded. Certificates are emailed to the email provided during enrolment.
*Please note, it is a requirement of this course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor. Please contact us via our online form prior to booking the course, if you are unable to kneel on the floor.
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for HLTAID012 Provide an Emergency First Aid in an Education & Care Setting.

Validity
Three (3) years from date of course. It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that you update your CPR skills every 12 months.
Our comprehensive student management system will remind you approximately 1-2 months before your CPR or First Aid Certificate is due to be refreshed.
